Thank you Letter
Drear K-9’s for Veteran Warriors Keith and I would like to Thank you for what you have done by giving Keith Lincoln.
I don’t think anyone really understands what PTSD is and the symptoms unless you have it yourself. I try to understand, but there are days that even I don’t get it and I live with a Veteran who has PTSD. There were days before Lincoln that Keith couldn’t function or get out bed due to the emotional and physical pain from being at war. Those days are fewer now. Keith spent many nights staring at the ceiling because he was afraid to close his eyes, he didn’t want to fight the same war again. Now that he has Lincoln Keith can finally sleep, and if he does have a nightmare Lincoln stands beside the bed or gets in the bed to wake Keith up. PTSD comes with rages and depression. When Keith is depressed, Lincoln somehow knows and focuses Keith’s attention elsewhere. When Keith is in a rage Lincoln calms him down by getting his attention. Because of Lincoln we can now live a somewhat normal life. Thank you for doing what you do!

Subject: Letter about Tango
Tango is his name, he is my service dog that has brought much needed joy into my life by being at my side always. Ever since meeting Michael Tellerino and Regina Lattuca, I could feel how they wanted to help me by providing me with a service dog that was named Tango. I was shown a picture of an all black German shepherd and was sold from that point on. Tango is a beautiful German shepherd that from the very beginning I could feel the development of our bond. It's a feeling of elation that I haven't felt in a while. The ability to take Tango with me everywhere makes it easier to go where ever I have to. I have terrible anxiety and don't do well in large crowds, a feeling that pits my stomach and makes my heart race. Since having Tango those feelings haven't resurfaced and it puts a smile on my face to welcome the challenge of whatever tomorrow brings, with Tango by my side I feel confident that no matter what happens in life things will get easier with Tango's smile and mine.

Before I got Marley I didn't get out very much. I hated being in crowded places and avoided talking with people I didn't know. I had nightmares every night and panic attacks everyday. Since getting Marley I've been forced to interact with the general public and it's built my confidence up extremely. Every time I leave the house I have multiple people asking me about Marley, forcing me to interact with them. Marley wakes me up when I have nightmares and comforts me as before I would have to deal with it myself, taking me hours to fall back to sleep. When I go to the store Marley stands behind me so I don't have to constantly look over my shoulder to see if anyone is standing to close or approaching me. My anxiety has dropped significantly and when I do have a panic attacks Marley senses it and comforts me, drawing all of my attention to him witch in-turn clams me down. I get out more because of Marley and my social skills are almost back to where they were before I had PTSD. Marley has truly changed my life for the better and I hope some day every Veteran gets to experience the gratification I've come to know.
